Tras una larga espera, finalmente se dieron a conocer a los nominados a la próxima entrega de los Oscar.
Entre las favoritas para este año destaca El Poder del Perro (The Power of the Dog), cinta original de Netflix que cuenta con 12 nominaciones, incluyendo Mejor Película, Mejor Dirección y Mejor Actor Principal por el trabajo de Benedict Cumberbatch, y Dune, la cual alcanza un total de 10 nominaciones.
En el resto de las categorias podemos encontrar el cortometraje animado chileno Bestia y la pelicula japonesa Drive My Car, la cual ademas de estar nominada como mejor pelicula extranjera, compite en las principales categorias del certamen, como Mejor Pelicula, Mejor Diretor y Mejor Guion Adaptado.
Otra curiosdad de este año, es que en la categoria Mejor Pelicula Extranjera se nominó a Flee, producción animada que tambien compite como Mejor Pelicula Animada junto a Encanto, Luca y Raya y el Último Dragón, y en la catogoria Mejor Documental.
Este año Marvel Studios logró dos nominaciones en Mejores Efectos Visuales por Spider-Man: Sin Camino a Casa y Shang-Chi y la Leyenda de los 10 Anillos.
